The Rt Hon David Lammy MP, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom, paid a courtesy call on His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu today, during his visit to the United Kingdom.
Discussions during the call focused on enhancing bilateral relations between the Maldives and the United Kingdom, with particular emphasis on cooperation in fisheries, climate change adaptation, the expansion of renewable energy, and the advancement of education and scholarship opportunities. Both sides also explored new avenues for collaboration across key sectors.
The call concluded with both countries reaffirming their commitment to strengthening the enduring partnership between the two nations.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the United Kingdom were established on July 26, 1965.
