At the invitation of His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu, President of the Republic of Maldives, His Excellency Anura Kumara Disanayaka, President of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka, is scheduled to undertake a state visit to the Maldives from 28 to 30 July 2025.
During the visit, President Dr Muizzu and President Disanayaka will hold official discussions to enhance cooperation between the Maldives and Sri Lanka in mutually beneficial areas.
This will be President Disanayaka’s first state visit to the Maldives since assuming office in September 2024. The Maldives established diplomatic relations with Sri Lanka on 26 July 1965, and this year commemorates the 60th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the two nations.
