President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has conferred National Award for Public service on 94 recipients, presenting them with commemorative shields and badges in recognition of their long-term service to the State.

The awards were conferred during the official Independence Day function held at the Social Centre, this morning.

This State honour, initiated by the President, recognises those who have served the State for over 35 years, celebrating their competence and integrity in carrying out their duties, as well as their contributions to their respective institutions.

All 94 recipients honoured today, have dedicated over 40 years to State service. Those who have served the State for 35 to 39 years are to be honoured at the Republic Day function.

The National Awards Committee is mandated with vetting and selecting recipients for the National Awards.

In his remarks at the ceremony, the President extended his congratulations and appreciation to all recipients for their exemplary service to the State.
