The Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Maldives, His Excellency Elchin Nariman oglu Huseynli presented his Letters of Credence to the President, His Excellency Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held on Monday morning at the President's Office.
The Ambassador was escorted to the President’s Office from the Republic Square in a cultural procession “Haiykolhu” with MNDF Drum and Trumpet Band.
The Ambassador presented his Letters of Credence to the President, who accepted it and welcomed him as the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to the Maldives.
After the presentation, the President and Ambassador strengthening bilateral cooperation. The President also expressed admiration for Azerbaijan’s cultural heritage and sought expertise in helping the Maldives establish a cultural college to preserve Maldivian Culture.
Diplomatic Relations between Maldives and Azerbaijan was established on June 15, 2006.
