President Dr Mohamed Muizzu departed this morning on a four-day trip to the inhabited islands of South Miladhunmadulu Atoll.
During the trip, the President will travel to all the inhabited islands in the atoll, meeting with island councils and Women’s Development Committees to consult on key development priorities and address the pressing concerns of local communities. He will also engage directly with residents to inquire about their wellbeing.
A number of Government-led development projects will be inaugurated during the trip. These include the commencement of work to establish fitness and recreation centres, as well as new police posts on selected islands, along with the launch of initiatives aimed at enhancing school infrastructure and health centres.
The President is scheduled to visit 13 inhabited islands: Hen'badhoo, Holhudhoo, Lhohi, Kudafari, Ken'dhikulhudhoo, Velidhoo, Manadhoo, Magoodhoo, Maalhendhoo, Maafaru, Miladhoo, Fodhdhoo, and Landhoo.
He is accompanied by several Cabinet Ministers and senior officials from key Government institutions.
This trip is part of the President's initiative to tour all Maldivian atolls and engage directly with councils at the island, atoll, and city levels.
The President will conclude the trip and return to Malé on Thursday.
