President Dr Mohamed Muizzu consulted with members of the L. Fonadhoo Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions on the island’s key development priorities. The meeting took place at the Secretariat of the Fonadhoo Council.

They also expressed concern over delays in completing the new school building and stressed the need for a hospital on the island. Additionally, the council emphasised the importance of introducing bunkering services and obtaining the necessary equipment to support public service work.

Other priorities raised included the timely completion of the police station, futsal ground, youth centre, and football field. The island’s youth also called for the construction of a jetty on Fonadhoo’s western side to improve accessibility.
