President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has returned to Malé today after concluding his two-day visit to all inhabited islands of Faadhippolhu and three inhabited islands of Maaleatholhu.

During the tour, the President travelled to Hinnavaru, Naifaru, Kurendhoo, and Olhuvelifushi in Faadhippolhu before visiting Kaashidhoo, Dhiffushi, and Thulusdhoo, three islands in Maaleatholhu that he had not previously visited in an official capacity.

Throughout the visit, the President met with Island Councils and Women's Development Committees (WDCs) to discuss development needs and the residents' key aspirations. He also engaged with the general public on each island, enquiring about their well-being and listening to the concerns they raised on various matters.

The President was accompanied by a delegation including several Cabinet Ministers and heads of state-owned enterprises, who provided up-to-date information on projects currently underway and those planned for each island.

During the tour, agreements were formalised for various development projects, and several initiatives were launched targeting housing, education, health, and wellness on the islands.

In his addresses to residents, the President noted that the 2026 budget would facilitate compassionate assistance to the people through the councils, with the health sector being designated as the highest priority. He also announced that whilst Civil Service pay harmonisation takes effect on 1 November, bringing a salary increase, council employees' pay will similarly be harmonised. He assured residents that all administrative staff in councils across the Maldives will be reclassified, with four classifications being consolidated into one unified classification in line with all other civil service employees.

At Lh. Naifaru, the President visited the Bliss Care Clinic, which provides extensive therapy services for children with special needs. He met with the children receiving various therapies at the clinic and spent time engaging with them.

This visit forms part of the President's ongoing series of tours to visit all atolls, meet with councils at atoll, island, and city levels, and enquire about residents' well-being firsthand. With his visit to K. Thulusdhoo today, the President has fulfilled his pledge to visit every inhabited island in the Maldives in an official capacity.
