President Dr Mohamed Muizzu and First Lady Sajidha Mohamed attended the official Republic Day ceremony held this morning.
The ceremony featured the presentation of national honours, including the State Honour, the Highest Honour of Service, the National Award for Public Service, and the President’s Award for Special Achievement.
On the occasion, President Dr Muizzu extended greetings to the nation through a message on his official X account. He reaffirmed his Administration’s commitment to safeguarding the Maldives for its people and to realising the aspirations of Maldivians with sincerity and faith in Almighty Allah. The President expressed his gratitude for the unity and cooperation of the nation and pledged to continue advancing the country towards greater progress and prosperity that would make all citizens proud.
First Lady Sajidha Mohamed also shared a message on her official X account, offering prayers for the continued unity, harmony, and prosperity of the Maldives.
Republic Day commemorates the Maldives’ transition from a monarchy to a republic on 11 November 1968.
